Can what you eat cause constipation in a 2-week old breastfed infant?

  • Define constipation....Breastfed babies can go quite a few days without pooping.

  • you shouldn't worry. i think i was told if no poop in 7 days, then worry. don't quote me on that, i'm a little rusty :) but bfed babies can go longer w/o pooping. it's perfectly fine and normal.

  • I also posted on your other one., but in response to the babies should be pooping at least once a day in the first 25 days....after that the record in my bf group is 20 days!

  • What you eat CAN effect baby...but has the meconium been passed? If so, then you may not see another poop for a while.
