Breast is best for mom?

We all know that breastfeeding has benefits for babies, but I recently heard that there are some for the mother other than a reduction in breast cancer. What are some other ones?

  • it stimulates the uterus to shrink down especially after birth (its one of the reasons they suggest to try nipple stimulation to start up labour)

  • the uterus shrinks making getting your extra pounds off easier. but mostly it is the bonding experience between the mother and child its an experience that no one can describe just have to experience. good luck whatever you decide its a big committment.

  • also lower risk of ovarian cancer and endometrial cancer. also can delay periods which can be a perk :)

  • It may also lessen the risk of osteoporosis. The oxytocin helps mothers feel more calm and may help prevent or reduce post partum depression. The risk of post partum hemhorrage is less in breastfeeding moms too.
