Will my tax refund amount be affected by my receiving food stamps in '09?

  • No well from what I heard because its not earned income.

  • when you are receiving food stamps, unearned income counts "against" you more than earned income

  • I just looked at the form and it doesn't have a place to even put Food Stamps. I've never heard of anyone claiming FS on their taxes. It should not affect anything.

  • no, public support is not income. It would not make sense for the gornment to tax "tax money". It'd be double taxation.

  • No - but if you receive a refund, it will affect the amount of food stamps you receive for that month I would think.

  • Food stamps are not taxable income and are not claimed on income taxes. It will not affect your refund at all.
