What is a good camera?

I have a Nikon Cool Pix but I want a real camera LOL.
I love taking pictures of scenery, nature, and many of my children. I also want to get in to photography. So what camera would be a great buy?

  • There are so many cameras that you can choose from cuz It just really depends on what you want. If you are tired of the point and shoots they have DSLR's they are pricer but GREAT. To me, meg pixels dont really make a difference only if you want something that you can print 8x10's you might want a camera with 10MPs. Having a zoom is nice too. I use to have a sony that was 12x zoom and gave me a 24x zoom option.

If you are really wanting to get into photography go with a Canon or Nikon http://nikonusa.com/Find-Your-Nikon/Digital-SLR/index.page http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ProductCatIndexAct&fcategoryid=111

If you want to go with something cheaper. I recommend Sony's H models. I had a H1 and it was perfect and I was able to purchace additional lenses and it is a great starter if you aren't ready for a DSLR.. it has the same functions as one but also the same as a DSLR. Hope that helps outsome.

  • i have a cannon with a 10x zoom. it is amazing. the pictures are always super clear and when you take pictures of people a box will appear over their face while you take it if they are looking. if they are not looking right at the camera you will know since the box will not appear.

  • I started out with an Olympus D545 zoom. great little camera and not too pricey.

then went to an Olympus SP-560, and now have the next step up.
