  • My twins were about 8-9 months when they started saying mama and dada. My youngest was about 7 months. As far as more than that, I can't really remember. I do know my youngest talked earlier than her sisters.

  • Mine said their first words around 10.5 months, had 10-20 words by 18 months, they really started talking in short sentances around 2.

  • Too soon--way too soon, and they haven't shut up since!

  • My oldest daughter said her first words around 8-9 months and started really talking around the time she turned 2.
My son said his first words at 6 months (had like 20 words by the time he turned 9 months) and was speaking in sentences at 12 months...he did everything early---walked at 10 months, too. He kept me on my toes.
My middle daughter said her first word at 16 months and didn't start speaking in sentences until she was almost 3 (at 2 she knew about 20 words).
My youngest daughter said her first words at like 7-8 months and was carrying on conversations at 18 months. She's 3 now and says some off the wall stuff. She's way too smart for her own good.
