  • I would not recommend time-outs for children under the age of 2.5 years.

  • My DD is 19 months and she gets time out, I put her there for like 2 to 3 mins just long enough for her to get that she needs to stop doing what she is doing. It works.

  • I do know that a child should not get more than a minute per year of their age.

  • Hmmmm. Maybe not. Im a fan of timeouts even if its just putting them in the crib for a minute. If your baby has a better attitude change after a timeout, then he/she understands. Dont underestimate the diaper

  • We do timeouts for temper tantrums and she is there long enough to calm down and stop screaming and sometimes that takes 15-20 mins. The time is actually getting shorter and she is 18 mos.
