Moms of daughters

Does your husband or SO bathe your daughter? Mine has only done it when she was a newborn. I get the impression that he feels uncomfortable to bathe her. Anyone else have this happen?

  • Nope. Actually, my husband gives the baths more than I do just because I'm doing a million other things. Our 9 year old daughter obviously baths herself but he does make sure she's gotten all the shampoo out of her hair. Our 6 year does most everything herself, but again the shampoo. Her hair is super long so she needs help washing it all.

  • He did when she still needed help. He was uncomfortable, but I made him do it anyway. I had to clean the boys, he can clean the girl. Besides, if he didn't help her, and if I was at school, then she wouldn't be clean. Which can lead to all kinds of yucky things. So he did, and he got over it.

  • yes i only bath my daughter. i've asked him to a couple times when i got off work later, but they refer to just washing up. the last time he did give her a bath he told me she said "i like when mommy does it" *made me feel special*. he likes when i do it too. i dont ever remember my father giving me a bath when i was little. so ita a-okay wt me!

  • Some guys are just not comfortable doing it. My kids father will do everything but give baths. He's scared they'll get hurt.Weird yes but it's true it's the only thing he always said he wasn't going to do.So who know's talk to him about it.

  • DD's only 8 mo so no problems w/ daddy helping w/ bath time yet, usually I just throw her in the shower w/ him vs have him give her a bath. I know that he'll start to feel wierded out about the time she starts asking why daddy has something hanging down & she doesn't so I expect then he'll start to give her a bath. I'll probably take over by then anyway, he's at work during the times she needs a bath.

  • This is my first daughter but his second one and he would not even change her. But when she turned 4 or 5 months he started changing her and washing her. I was question it myself to men at work that have girls.

  • He will give her a bath but she washes her own private parts. I don't even wash them, we want her to understand that daddy loves her a lot and if he won't even touch her there then she will realize its wrong when someone else does. He also won't put diaper cream on her.

  • my fil would not even be left alone with his daughter, so my hubby stays away as well, but he is not as bad as his father was. he will change diapers, and only a poopy one if i really can't do it. I do most of the baths anyhow, but he will monitor her in the tub. I don't even bother asking him to actually wash her.
