2 Injured In Medical Marijuana Dispensary Robbery 2 Elementary Schools Placed On Temporary Lockdown

DENVER -- Two armed would-be robbers were bloodied by irate family members Wednesday morning in what police say was the first shooting at a medical marijuana dispensary in Denver.

Rafael Hernandez said he and other medical-marijuana entrepreneurs suspect the two robbers were the same men who have recently robbed two nearby dispensaries, including a Tuesday night stickup at a place called "Mr. Stinky’s" at Third Avenue and Federal Boulevard.

"They match the descriptions of the guys who've been robbing dispensaries up and down Federal," Rafael Hernandez said.

  • Also keep in mind that for every dispencery that opens a few street dealers are put out of business. Robberies have been happening to street dealers for decades. So really, nothing has changed.

  • I support medical Marijuana, don't really have an opinion on this, and have a "wait and see" attitude. I'm curious what others think.

  • I support as well, but I don't think it will attract more crimes than other pharmacies.

  • There are still WAY WAY more violent incidents at Chuck E. Cheese's than marijuana dispensaries. Seriously.

  • I think it's no different then a pharmacy or a liquor store being robbed. Does not change anything.

  • No. I worked in a pharmacy in a small town in the middle of nowhere and they still experienced an average of 3 robberies or "attempted" robberies a year. For where I am, that's HUGE.

  • How much longer do you want to WAIT. You think this is an isolated incidence? It will happen again. Pretty soon they will all have fences around them like abortion clinics to keep the druggies and theives out.

How is this any different from a regular pharmacy and what happens there? Should we also ban addictive medications? And who said they thought this was an isolated incident? The article even states that it's not. What's your point with that?
