My daughter is 11 months old ... and she only weighs 18. 10 pounds .. and she has no teeth and she isn't walking. I dont know if she is suppose to be doing these things. All my friend's children are around the same age or younger and have like 5 teeth and walking and all that stuff. Am i doing something wrong ? =(

  • My second was 17 pounds at one year and did not walk until 14 months. Plenty of babies do not get any teeth until after their first birthday. Most kids walk around their first birthday (some a couple of months before, some a few months after). I think about 20 lbs at a year is "average", your baby is probably just on the petit side.
Is baby happy and healthy? Is she reaching other milestones like siting up and crawling? Smiling and laughing and playful, interested in toys and people etc? If so, she is fine!

  • Not all kids are the same....I know kids that didn't talk until 2, kids with no teeth until 18 months, and my son didn't actually take off and walk until 14 months.

  • All children are different and develop differently. Our daughter is a skinnie minnie too - she will be 4 this month and is barely 30 pounds. She walked on her first birthday. I would say if you have concerns discuss them with your pediatrician at the one year check up. I would assuame that if the doctor has not said anything to you then they are not concerned yet either. Just remember they are all different!

  • Sounds normal to me! My daughter didn't start talking until 1 1/2, didn't walk until she was 17 months, didn't crawl until 10 months.. She is 4 years old and only weighs 25 pounds.. Every child is different, in every aspect. My daughter got her first tooth at 6 months. I know other children that didn't even have a tooth until after they were well over 1 year of age.

  • My son was about 18 lbs at a year, started crawling at 11 mos, walking at 14 mos, and got his first tooth at 11 mos. My daughter was 19 lbs at a year, crawled at 9 1/2 mos, walked at 10 1/2 mos and got her first 3 teeth in the week before her first birthday. All kids are different.

  • my #3 didn't walk untill 17 months! they all hit those milestones when they are ready. if you think she is tiny, her muscles may not be ready for walking yet. don't worry mama!
