Any suggestions on how I can help my 2 year to stop getting constipated? (she hates prune juice)

  • When my son was 2 his Dr told us to give him Miralax. Just about a quarter of the lid full of the powder, and it worked! He had problems since birth up until he was potty trained so it was a blessing! I was worried about giving him something like that but our Dr (and some reading up) told us the body cant be dependent on it as a way to "go". So I would suggest it highly! It takes around a day or so, and to keep my son regular we gave a little every other day in a drink. Good Luck!

  • make sure you keep bananas and rice out of her diet. raisins always get my daughter going. what kid doesn't like raisins. good luck.

  • I'm having this same problem with my two year old. His peditrician said to give him a teaspoon of Milk of Magnesia. It works really well.

  • Eliminate meat, bananas, cut way back on dairy, simple grains (white flour, white rice, etc.), foods with concentrated sugars (like fruit juice and anything with high fructose corn syrup. Your child should be drinking lots of water, and eating fruits, vegetables, whole grains and legumes.

  • cut out dairy, add veggies. watch out with the juice. try brown rice bread and pasta. raisins and oatmeal work well!
