Anyone have a career in Medical Blling and Coding?

I am lookng to going back to school and getting a degree in this, but can you tell me do you get benefits, do you have to work from home and how is the pay? any info would be helpful.

  • I did, it was useless in my area. Everyone wanted experience etc.. The pay depends on where you live, around here is was about 10.00 and hour. It is certificate program, if you work in a Dr office, you have a better chance of on the job training for it. Most billing and coding is done by computer software programs now, and the computer generates the claims with a click of a button. Research the need in your area and call around for other info like pay scale etc and then decide.
