  • Try making a big deal of it. If possible let him pick out a new pillow or stuffed animal and a new night light or flash light.

Set up a weekly chart with a goal He gets a dollar for every night he sleeps in his bed, or movie out or a transformer etc. Give him something to look forward to for sleeping alone.

Change up how he sleeps. Make it fun by sleeping at the wrong end of the bed. Upside down sleeping.

Let him sleep in a sleeping bad on the floor by the door. Explain to him so he understands every couple days he will move closer to his bed with the goal that eventually the sleeping bag goes on the bed.  Do this for a week with a calendar he can check off with a goal at the end.

  • By this age a child should be used to and wanting to sleep in their own bed. Try reading them a story and then tuck them in. No TV and just a night light should do. Eventually they will get used to the routine, and routine is the MOST important thing for a child this age.

  • Buy him one of those kiddie bed tents and make it seem like something really cool....
