is there a difference b/t chap stick and lip balm?

  • Yes. Lip balm is more of a vasline type substance, usually derived from vasaline or vasline-like products.
    Chapstick a thicker consistancy. The lip balm tends to cover easier and soaks into the skin easier. Resulting in faster action. Where the chapstick doesn't soak in as easy, as it is a thicker substance.

  • Also beware, some brands have additives that actually cause the lips to dry out over time requiring more use of their product and intensifying the dry lips problem.

  • Chap Stick is a name brand of lip balm. Kind of like we say Kleenex for facial tissues even if we buy Puffs or Band-Aid for... I can't even think of what the actual name for Band-Aids is right at the moment. LOL!
