Any suggestions as to what I can use in this recipe for flavor

rather than garlic? My MIL lives with us and eats with us and suddenly doesn't like garlic, so if i make this she won't eat it. What can I use in this recipe instead to add flavoring?

  • with the red pepper flakes, I think you could safely leave out the garlic, not add anything else and it still have good flavor.

with the lemon and pepper though, maybe some cilantro.

  • Another thought, instead of swapping it for something else, could you maybe add it to the individual dishes when you serve? Then, hers wouldn't have any, but the rest of you would have it in yours.

  • Make hers separate or tell her to make something else. Would you change what you make for your kids? Works the same for an adult. I do NOT change what I make unless the person is allergic to something in the food. Especially for an adult. If you add it after cooking, it will not taste the same.
