  • The other cat is smelling what is left there from the the other cat. Try using water and vingar. I always do more water the vingar. but that has really helped us. We had a cat that got really sick and she had some accidents on the floor. We can not smell it anymore and out other cats done have any accidents there.

  • also, a reason why yhe kitten was going might be because some cats don't like to share litter boxes, especially between male/female. Your current cat, as i agree with PP probably still smells the scent of the kitten.

  • Make sure the litterbox is cleaned ALOT.. some cats are very picky.. also like ANon said make sure you clean up the areas the cat was going before.. animals can smell things we cannot even come close to smelling.. so its just being bossy now going in that same area..
if it keeps going maybe check with the vet and make sure there is no medical reason it is doing this.

  • your cat that goes outside might also be developing the habit of being able to go where it pleases. i had a cat that did that, then it dawned on us that she was used to going out in the yard and pooping everywhere. just a thought.

  • If could be that he smells where the kitten semt however when cats do this sometimes it is because they are stressed or they are trying to tell you some thing is wrong medically. You need to take him to the vet and have it ruled out.
