  • depending on the family and how they raise their children. im sure a single mother could be as good as a 2 parent family. :)

  • Couples who are divorced or in the midsts of a separation/divorce should NOT live together. I have attended MANY domestic calls at houses where the parents are doing this and it hardly ever works. It's stressful for the children as well as the parents. There is almost always fighting over stupid things (like what time one of them came home blah blah). I think if the parents are not together, then they shouldn't BE together. Children are highly adaptable creatures and even though they won't like it, they will adjust.

  • I suppose it depends, if the child is living in a house with both parents who constantly fight and it's not a good environment for the child, then no...if the other, yes.

  • I agree I think some single moms can be just as good, but overall if it's a funcional family and everyone gets along, children do best in a home with both parents. Studies have shown this to be true.

Answer by staceynoel at 8:18 PM on Jan. 10, 2010

  • Yes, a good functional family with both parents is better than a single parent home.
