  • First Response is very sensitive. I took it at 9dpo and got a nice line. The next day, my beta hCG was 25.9 so I believe my hCG was around 15 the day I took that test! I think First Response Early Result is the most sensitive you can get at the store currently.

I can get a 2pk at Walmart for $7 so it's very reasonable.

Actually, FRER can test below 15mIU. The manufacturer will say 20mIU but it can actually test lower than that and I'm actually a testament to that myself. Clear Blue Easy Digital reads at 50mIU and the regular Clear Blue reads at 25mIU, but all those numbers are just manufacturer guidelines and may be more or less.

This has a list of hcg detection levels in hpts. I bought 5 of their tests from that website (AimStrip tests, extremely cheapo). I took one at 8dpo with a faint line. I took another the day before my period was due, and one a week after my period was late. All were positive. I made my SO take one, it was negative. I used water on one, also negative. They work and they're freakin cheap to load up on if you're ttc. I'm 25 weeks now, so I say order those (takes about two days and they send you cute baby dust!) if you're going to be testing a lot/ttc.

  • I also used aimstrip and got a positive at 8 or 9dpo. They're cheap and they work, though I only took two and i'm now three months along.
