  • We have 2 large Shepherds and a Husky. We only give them real bones, they have almost choked on the rawhide ones.

  • If you are going to give your dog Rawhides make sure they are made in the USA and monitor them while they are consuming them but there is other stuff that is a lot better for them Pig Ears,Bully Sticks, Hooves etc just make sure it is USA made otherwise you never know what kind of preservatives have been placed on them.

  • Yes, they are. When they get soft they are easier for the dog to swallow so it can cause them to choke, have Gi issues or worse. If you are going to give it a dog i always recommend getting a bone that is big for that breed and taking it away when it gets sof. They should also only be allowed to have it when they are supervised. I prefer nylabones, soup marrow bones or kongs

  • Our dogs LOVE their kongs. Even when they are empty they still chew and lick on them. The kongs have been a great investment,

  • Yes, rawhide bones are horrible for dogs. Aside from possible choking, it can get caught in their digestive track, and cause serious problems. Those things turn to mush when they are chewing on them, and that's what they do once they are eaten. You don't want to give your dog rawhide ever. There are many better things out there for your dog to chew on.

  • Larger dogs are better with rawhide as long as your dog has proven to chew them well, and you continue to monitor and remove any small pieces that are a choking hazard.
I also recommend those large knuckle bones for large dogs, the pieces generally chip off in small pieces to avoid choking.

With smaller dogs under 50lbs I couldn't say
