What is a normal average dinner at your house?

like 4 out of 7 nights a week. What kind of stuff is on the menu. Be honest! :0B

Me?> (recently) venison of some sort, corn bread/mashed potatoes/rice and a veggie of some sort usually peas or green beans. The kids always have apple sauce or half a banana with dinner as well.

  • 2 - 3 nights a beef dish: beef roast, sloppy joes, casseroles using beef, beef & veggie stir fry, tacos or burritos, goulash, beef stroganoff, salisbury steak & gravy, lasagna
2 - 3 nights a chicken dish: chicken alfredo, roast chicken, oven fried chicken, teriyaki or sesame chicken, chicken & rice, pot pie, chicken strips, turkey burgers, chicken lasagna, chicken chili, chicken tetrazzini, chicken Parmesan, spicy chicken fillet sandwiches, chicken stir fry, quesadillas
1 - 2 nights a week a meatless meal like taco soup, lentil stew, bean burritos or nachos, vegetarian meatloaf
1 night a week a misc. meal like pizza, scalloped potatoes & ham, pigs in a blanket, German potato salad, taco salad

I always make sure there are 2 sources of veggies at each dinner, maybe one fruit in the form of applesauce, fruit salad or fresh fruit.

  • We eat low fat low sodium foods. Some of our typical dinners include:

turkey chili with low fat Ritz crackers
homemade burritos (made with ground turkey, fat free refried beans, homemade seasoning mix, and lots of chopped veggies on soft corn tortillas)
roasted chicken with roasted vegetables (potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and turnips)
    spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce
Roasted turkey tenderloins with baked sweet potatoes

  • I make a lot of hotdishes - a pasta, a meat, a veggie, all held together with some cream of celery and sometimes cheese. We have spaghetti at least once every 2 weeks. Some sort of roast, meatloaf, meatballs, whatever, and a potato, and veggies. Homemade soups, potato veggie most of the time, sometimes veggie beef. This weeks menu: last night was tacos etc, tonight we have a dinner to go to, and the rest of the week, not sure what meal will be what night, but potato soup, homemade spaghetti sauce over pasta (I use pre-made most of the time), deer roast with baked potato casserole (roasted chunks with broccoli & cheese) and a veggie, pork loin with mashed potatoes (the taters from our garden need to get used up!). Other things we have at least once a month: taverns (sloppy joes), chicken of some sort & rice (we have rice at least once a week normally). We have at least 1 veggie with every meal that isn't soup too.
