Why do people continuously say they know someone with a cliched name, when it's so obvious that they're lying???!!!?

Seriously, how many people on CM have said they know someone named La-a (La-dash-a) or Orangello and Yellongello or Anita Dick. Everyone knows these are just urban legends, why do people lie?

  • their not urban legends lol. Maybe you havn't ran across anyone with a unique name but I went to a big school with a very diverse group of kids and I knew a boy named jack kanoffe for REAL and whats sad was he is a Jr. , meaning his dad had to go through the name calling and being made fun of just like him, why in the world, would he put his son through that torture too! I also knew a girl named Heaven lee Love, I thought that was a bit cheesy but I guess her parents didnt lol

  • You might think they are urban legends but there are people out there with those names. My Ob told me about twins he delivered that the teen mom names lemonjello, and oranjello because that was what she was eating when they asked. Some parents don't realize I guess. I don't think all people are lying but some might be.

  • I see that EVERYTIME there's a question about weird names on here someone says they either know someone who named the kids orangejello & lemonjello or they claim to have a "friend" who knows someone who did! If this were really true as you as pointing out, then those names would be all over the place!

  • Oh oh & the other one about naming the girl baby Female (Fee-maul-ee)! Never never met someone nor heard of someone named that but yet on here again, there's always a nurse or someone who knows a nurse who says that a mom put that on the paper at the hospital!

  • They know a guy who knows a guy who met this chick on the bus who knows a guy . . . . . blah blah blah. It's too funny. IDK why people would lie about something like that, but some of them must be lying. Can't everyone know someone with those made up names.
