I need to lose 40-45 lbs how long should it take me, and I am not looking for fast results?

  • About 5-6 months. Dieting and exercising is a lifestyle change, not an over night thing. Good luck!!

  • It depends on how big you are, too. They SAY it is good to lose 2-3 lbs a week. BUT that depends on how heavy you are to start..

  • A sustainable, safe rate is 1-2 pound a week.

    I would start with simple lifestyle changes.
    Don’t buy junk food
    Walk, or do other exercise, for at least 20 minutes a day, at least 3 times a week.
    Make sure that you are drinking enough water, at least 8 8oz glasses a day.
    Eat an apple or big pile of veggies before meals.
    Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, in at least 3 different colors.
    Eat 5-6 servings of whole grains a day.
    Eat at least two servings of legumes a day.
    Cut way back on meat and dairy.

  • i agree with rkoloms that 1-2 lbs a week is healthy but i do not agree when she says to cut way back on meat and dairy. your body needs calcium and protein. if you stick to lean meats, it is healthy.
