CAT Scan.....

My grandfather has been getting dizzy a lot lately and says he sees thousands of spots in front of his eyes for the past 2 days. He is prescribed blood pressure medication and his blood pressure was 189 over 72 yesterday.He has went to 2 different doctors int he past 2 days and they both denied him a CAT Scan because of his insurance.....what can we do about this?He needs one bad and is healthy other then this and acts normal but he cant work his job seeing these spots and being dizzy he works at a chemical plant. if anyone knows what to do about this or has any help we thank you.

  • also has he seen an adult eye surgeon who also does general eye care or just a primary? Ask his pharmacist for side effects of his meds too.

    E R will do only so much - lots of times they really have to be pushed into tests. Plus most often those not covered by insurance end up being in bad debt from expensive medical bills.

    Call his county for insurance help questions and his insurance company. Have him next to you plus all of his meds too. Insurance companies make mistakes. We had care denied for several years for something. Then one day out of the blue a statement came in that insurance paid it. We called insurance and they said -its been covered for years!!!! whth ???

    Read his insurance policy yourself. Maybe he needs an adjustment of meds or a different med.
