What solid foods should I start with?

I have been feeding my daughter baby food for a couple of months and she is now starting solid foods. I wanted to see what solid foods other mother's started thier babies with. My daughter is 8 months old. Thanks!

  • mashed potatoes are always a favorite, soups and stew where the foods are soaked tend to be soft enough for them to mash in their mouths.

  • I'd do vegetables as long as you can.

  • "Solids" are anything that's not breastmilk or formula, so baby is already on solids. If you mean finger foods...cheerios are great.

  • 8 months seems a little young for solids. What does your pediatrician recommend?

  • Dry toast. Bananas. Apple cut in slices, not cubes so they can gnaw on it. Gerber puffs/ cheerios. Jumbo Rice Krispies.

  • avocados, bananas, sweet potatoes, black beans, peas, cheerios, small pieces of cheese. . . . all make great finger foods.

  • My daughter loves banana and kiwi, carrots and her favorite is a veggie soup I make it has broccoli.spinach,carrot,potato,onion,celery and then pureed she is 8 months old also
