  • Blot up as much as possible. Add rubbing alcohol to a cloth and blot the oil. The alcohol will absorb the oil and lift up the stain.

  • Start by putting clean cat litter on it overnight. Then vacuum it up and use dawn soap on the spot for about ten minutes. By the time you get the dawn out it will have gotten most of the oil out. It may not match the rest of the carpet because it will be cleaner for a while.

  • Baking soda has smaller molecules or whatever than cat litter, try the cat litter first then get the rest of it up with baking soda?

  • I'd use the dawn soap, but if it's a lot, then the kitty litter should help as well. Not sure about baking soda. :)
