Does anyone know

How long it takes a legal aid or lawyer to actually file the papers to request a paternity test????
Not the whole process but this one simple action that would put it on record that a guy is trying to get a DNA test done. Would it be a simple thing they do right away or take a few days......?
Thanks if you have any experience of this

  • The lawyer files it and the clerk gives it a case number. It is filed instant, but can take a few days to have the judge order it.

  • It could take months. Nothing takes a few days. Ask the attorney what timeframe they think will happen.
