When you picture Jesus, what do you picture?

I picture my son. Funny, but he has long hair. Before he was born I pictured a man who was very muscular with long brown hair and a beard. Never any racial characteristics.

  • I picture a well built, tan man with the long hair and the beard. Not the scrawny pasty white guy shown in all the art work... He was a carpenter! He would have had some muscles! He was in the desert basically, he would have had a tan!

  • I picture him a darker skinned man, brown hair and I know He has brown eyes because most middle eastern men do but I often see blue eyes because I think of the water of life and the river that flows from the throne... then other times I see eyes of fire which is actually mentioned in revelation. Yet over all I see passionate eyes full of life, power and love. His smile is sweet and gentle, his hands strong . I do not see him as a very tall man but average height . I see waving hair and a beard too.
    Thats pretty much it.

  • I think Jesus was a man who when you looked at Him, you would first see overwhelming love and deep wisdom overflowing from his eyes. A kind smile. Laughter. Compassion.

I don't think there was anything about Him physically that would stand out because Isaiah describes Him as comely. But I think what stood out to people was what they could see inside Him!

  • anon20..silly girl, you can't see a myth!

i picture an average height man, brown hair/olive skin. what's more, is the feeling i get coming from him, when i 'see' him..a welcoming adoration, a complete acceptance, an excitement, not unlike a great homecoming after an exhausting trip away.
