Is your 11 month old ok if not walking or pulling up?

She rolls from place to place but does not try to pull up on things or crawl. She will stand if I hold her or in her exersaucer. Should I be worried?

  • My niece was just like that. She didn't end up walking until she was like 14 mths old. I think shes just lazy lol. Because when she tried for the first time she did awesome. But don't worry about it, give her some time.

  • Dont stress, all children develop at different speeds. my son did things a little slow, but once he started pulling himself up, he started crawling pulling up and walking while holding onto things all within the same month. He caught up quickly. Dont force the issue and try not to compare to others too much. it will happen!

  • I don't think there is a problem, but you could help her exercise her legs by holding her hands and letting her "walk" holding on to them. It may break your back lol, but it will strengthen her legs.

  • I'd start to be concerned by 12 months."normal" is between 8-10 months.Just ask the doc.My nephew wasn't hitting the physical milestones and we found out he has PDD-NOS(a form of autism),so you may need to raise concern soon.Hopefully its nothing.Just playing devil's advocate here!

  • My son crawled at 11 mos and didn't walk until 14 mos. I think this is fine. All kids have their own pace.

  • i would definitely mention it to a pediatrician. i do think it's normal. my husband's cousin's baby didn't pull up or walk until much later than average but is totally normal. my sister's friend's baby also wasn't doing these things until much later than average and they found out she had low muscle tone in her legs, or something like that. her daddy is a pediatrician so that might have helped ;) i think she got physical therapy after that and now she's 3 and totally normal =) i think she most likely would have been fine otherwise, but maybe she really did need the PT.
