Are there any detox type of pills that will help me loose weight?

So I am hearing a lot about detox type of diets to clean out your system. Has anyone tried this, and does it work? And if so what did you take and how did you do on it.

  • If you mean lose weight, you don't loose weight. They just make you crap a lot. If you do it stay home. It will make you lose some weight just not body fat.

  • The pills will make you poop. A detox diet with real food that is unprocessed and mostly raw will help you lose weight. It's cheaper and better to eat foods that are free of toxins than by tablets that make you poop your pants.

  • Detox doesn't work, our bodies naturally cleanse themselves!! Any diet that restricts your calories will make you lose weight. What you need to do is find a healthy diet that satisfies you, anything else will only end up the same way any drastic diets do - with failure. Try adding a little exercise at a time like an extra ten minutes each day the first couple weeks and then step up each couple weeks. These are small changes that you should be able to stick with.

  • According to Dr.Oz, you do not need to do that. Your body naturally does it by urinating and pooping. The detox kick is a bunch of hype. Just eat healthy. Check out Dr.Oz's website, it is very informative. Good luck.

  • Diets and diet aids (if they even work) are temporary fixes. Unless you learn how to eat healthy for life, you will not be able to maintain a healthy weight and will stay on the gain/lose roller coaster - frustrating for you and hard on your body. Drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water every day. Eat 5-6 servings of whole grains (brown rice, whole grain bread, etc.) every day. Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, in at least 3 different colors. Eat at least 2 servings of legumes every day. You will lose weight. You will have more energy. You will maintain a healthy weight. You will get sick less often. You will be setting a wonderful example for your children. You can get free meal plans and recipes from Dr. McDougall, or find his books at your local library:
Eat an apple or a big pile of vegetables before meals.
