Why won't my bread turn out? My yeast gets frothy and everything but my bread never rises. I even put it in the bread machine hoping that it would do the trick but it didn't.

  • If you overwork the dough, you may be breaking all of the gluten strands. Or it could be the type of flower you are using. Or maybe it isn't warm enough where you are letting your dough rise.

  • it takes an hour or 2 to rise in a warm draft free place. I add my yeast dry and then add warm water to make the dough. Never had a problem. Salt can "kill" yeast. maybe you add the salt too soon?
