Chest Pains (serious or nothing??)

I have been feeling a tightness come and go for a few hours.
I can't figure out what it is.

I took off my underwire bra so that wouldn't be in question.
It doesn't "burn" like I would expect heartburn to (don't remember ever having that).
It doesn't seem to be affected by leaning over, pressing in, etc.
It has been happening since before dinner. But maybe just indigestion?

Anyone have any suggestions??

  • It could be indigestion or some kind of digestive issue. I have GERD an I get a tightness in my chest from that sometimes because the stomach sphincter is near the chest area. Recently I have been having a really bad sharp pain and tightness in my chest, my doctor said it was because of the pain radiating from my back around to my chest. I seriously felt like I was having a heart attack at first but then talked myself down. lol

  • I have experiences similar symptoms. I was told I was stressed out and my blood pressure went up. I took a couple of ASPIRIN which seemed to help a bit. If it does not go away, feel lightheaded, call you doctor. I hope you are OK.Take care and good luck.

  • Thank you both! I will check into GERD.

It is confusing me because it isn't sharp pains and it comes and goes --- reminds me of dull labor contractions (timing wise). Every several minutes I feel it for several seconds.

To be safe, I will call my doc in the morning...
    Thank you!!

  • GERD and/or anxiety could be the problem.
