  • I can tell you what base is the WORST. Fort Drum. Its a hell. IF for some god awful reason you get stationed here, I would get on post housing. I live off base and its terrible. I have no heard anything bad about on post.

  • Fort Richardson, Alaska isn't the best either..... always freezing outside, half the houses are falling apart and the new ones you get charged extra for using utilities!?! makes no sense! Live off base if you get here!!

  • We're at Fort Carson, Colorado and it is beautiful. We were at Ft Irwin, California, and it was hell. Ft Shafter in Hawaii was beautiful as well, and I've heard that Ft Lewis is nice but rains alot.

  • I will say that Fort Lewis-by far-was my all time favorite so far!!! We love love loved it there! We are current at Fort Jackson, SC and it stinks beyond words! I have been married to the Army for almost 11 years and I do believe that where you live with your hubby is all about what you make it. Get out of town and travel around a bit-staying put will make any duty station terrible!

  • Fort Drum is terrible! We lived off base in Watertown (still military housing) but it still sucked. It is like negative 40 there in the winter. I'm from Michigan and that was even to cold for me! It's just depressing.
