  • Absolutely. DH has coworker friends, and we have a mutual friend who happens to be his best friend and my ex boyfriend. This mutual friend introduced us. I also have music friends who I get together and jam with.

  • We did much more when we were younger. Now most of our friends are married and we divide up along gender lines for a good deal of our socializing. I see no problem with opposite sex friends, as long as ones partner feels the same way.

  • I believe they can be just friends, but I've pretty much lost all my guy friends when I got married b/c I think it would be awkward now to hang out with them w/out my DH.

  • I honestly don't think so.

  • Yes, they can. I have male friends, some of whom I dated previous to my boyfriend. He has female friends, some of whom he dated previous to me. It is possible for two people of the opposite sex to be friends without any romantic or sexual feelings existing between them. If one or the other of them begins to develop feelings, then it can become a problem, but only for that specific friendship, not for opposite sex friendships in general.

  • Yes. I have male friends and DH has female friends. People we are not romantically interested in and people we have no intention of being anything but friends with. I'm even friends with exboyriends who I currently only see as friends. I am not romantically interested in them anymore. Same as DH as some of his exgirlfriends.

People who cannot be JUST friends with men are those who cannot seperate romance and friendship. Usually they're people are are desperate, needy, and clingy.
