  • I used the hospital ones during & right after labor, but once I had delivered and gotten cleaned up in a nice shower, I wore my own nursing gown and robe so my back side wasn't sticking out when I stood up.
I got mine at Kohl's and it came with a little baby gown too, very cute & cheap. I probably wouldn't spend much on a robe or gown that might end up bloody or covered with baby spit up.

  • You are told to wear the hospital gowns for many reasons. Then after delivery, I used my own gown and new robe and slippers.

  • I looked this up after I saw your questions cuz I was curious about it too. I actually really liked it when I saw Tori wear it on her show :) I found some from 34-95! The 95's said to buy 2, hmmm how interesting. Get one and wear your regular gown after.

  • I got a cheap gown and cheap robe that I used so I was comfortable, I am not secure feeling in a hospital gown they are degrading, the after delivery gowns arent as bad but still I like control of what is and isnt covered, if they got ruined in labor they only cost 15 bucks total so I was ok with that.

  • If you don't want to wear a hospital gown during labor & delivery, get a cheap nightgown or pair of pjs that you are comfortable in... If a medical emergency comes up, they will cut your clothes off, so don't wear something you are attached to (just in case). I got 2 nightgowns on clearance at WalMart- I think they were $5 each?
For after delivery, I just wore my own stuff that was comfy.

  • During my labor, I was so overheated and uncomfortable during transition that I stripped my robe off and delivered naked. I guess I'm glad I didn't bother buying a robe, lol.
