I need a peanut sauce recipe

Basic, peanut sauce recipe that goes well with spring rolls. There are a lot of nasty ones out there, so please if you haven't tried it, don't respond with something you found on Google. =)

And if you don't know of a recipe but know a good brand to try, that works too.

  • If you look up the recipe for Chili's lettuce wraps there is a recipe for peanut sauce in that. I have had it it is wonderful I am super picky about those too. Here I found it for you it is really good, my Dh even liked it and he wont hardly eat anything like that.

  • I make this almost every week: Pasta and Tofu with Finger-Licking Peanut Sauce
1/2 cup low or no sodium vegetable broth
1/4 cup chunky peanut butter (I use smooth)
    1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
    3 tablespoons brown sugar
    2 tablespoons rice vinegar
2 teaspoons grated peeled fresh ginger
2 teaspoons chile paste with garlic (add to taste, it is pretty spicey)
    4 garlic cloves, minced
8 ounces uncooked whole wheat angel hair
1 pound firm tofu, drained and cubed (optional)
1 cup (2-inch) sliced green onions
    1 cup shredded carrot
Combine first 8 ingredients in a small saucepan. Cook over medium heat 5 minutes or until smooth, stirring frequently (this can also be done in the microwave; use a tempered glass bowl, like pyrex, cook for 20 seconds, stir, repeat until smooth). Remove from heat.

  • Cook pasta in boiling water 8 minutes, omitting salt and fat. Add tofu, onions, and carrot; drain. Place pasta mixture in a large bowl. Add peanut butter mixture; toss gently.

  • Measurements are approximate since I never measure in the 5 years I've made this....I always cook to taste. My Malaysian boyfriend taught it to me.

    1 jar unsalted, unroasted peanuts
1 cup coconut milk (canned is fine)
    1/2 tablespoon garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon minced fresh red chili (we always used the big dry red ones...reconstitued in water)
1 tablespoon fish sauce (we used oyster)
1/2 cup -1cup half brown sugar
    Some splashes of soy sauce
Some curry powder maybe a 1tbs

Put your peanuts in a pan and cook them on medium heat until they are roasted. Add all ingredients to a food processor and chop. We always made ours super chunky and ate it with satay, boiled eggs, tomatoes, rice, onions, and cucumbers.

  • Oh, once it's all chunky in the pocessor I cook it on high until it boils stirring frequently and then put to simmer for a few minutes.
