Help! Dog pee in carpet

How do I get the dog pee smell out of the carpet?

  • Enzyme cleaner-- a good one is called Nature's Miracle. Enzymes break down the urea and really get the smell out.

  • Vinegar works well. mix 1/2 vinegar & 1/2 water & spray on stain. Let sit for a bit & blot w/ towel. The vinegar should also take the smell out enough so the dog won't pee there again.

  • On top of what the PP's mentioned borrow /rent a Rug Doctor and make sure to get some of the Pet Odor Remover Liquid works really good at removing pet odors even "older" stains.

  • rug shampooer is about the best. i kno how you feel. my male dog peed right in the middle of our couch! and bissel pet stuff it comes in a purple can. smells great too!
