  • I used liners and flushed the liner and then most of the poop would be go with it. I would throw the diapers in my washer to soak in water with borax. Before I did any other laundry I would do the diapers. I used my washer as a diaper pail. I don't know if it can be bad for the washer to have water in it for long periods of time. I did it for 3 years with no problem.

Here is an article with a lot of info

  • I keep the lid on mine tightly closed! And I rinse and clean it out when I empty it. There are also things you can buy to help. I don't use them so I don't know how well they work but here are a couple of links:

  • baking soda

and I made some pellet things that tucked into the top part of the lid - baking soda and essential oil.

but keeping the lid on tight and only slightly cracking it to put diapers in, and then when emptying. I did a quick rinse with hot water too

  • When you clean out the diaper pail spray some scented Lysol Disinfectant spray. Bleach your cloth diapers and wipes thoroughly with bleach and vinegar after rinsing them out.
