BH contractions or just cramping????

HI, I am 30 weeks and for the last week or so have been having cramps in my lower abdomen. Today they feel more like very intense menstrual cramps. Are these Braxton HIcks contractions or not? This is my first baby and have no idea what BH feel like. I cant feel my stomach getting hard or anything, just cramps down low.

  • I would say just cramps.. Braxton Hicks are different for everyone but they are basically illregular contractions that make no progree in your labor.. They will make you stomach hard but will come and go.. I cramped almost the entire pregnancy but my braxton hicks were up high almost on top of my stomach.. I would mention it to your doctor just to make sure but it's probably from the streching and pressure down there

  • Sonds like normal 3rd trimester cramps to me (they help your cervix thin out) I have never really heard anyone describe a BH without tightening. They can come with or without cramps but they almost always involve tightening of the uterus
