teeth pain

my teeth are really hurting me unfortunately i have no dental insurance. does anyone know of a pain reliever either over the counter or home remedy? willing to try anything

  • this is going to sound really odd, but go get a mini bottle of strong liquor, something clear will work better, but get whatever you can stand the taste of. put about 1/4 of the bottle in your mouth and tilt your head until the liquor is where the tooth ache is. hold it there until it goes numb, then spit it out. (swallowing is fine if you aren't pregnant though ;o) LOL)

    orajel works, but you have to reapply it OFTEN

    clove oil will work too, I just can't stand the taste of it! It numbs for longer than the orajel and is of course alcohol free if you don't like the first suggestion.

  • clove oil will numb the gums.

    Is there a dental school in your area? Sometimes you can get free work done if you let students do it with the supervision of the professor OR the professor will work on you while students watch.

  • i am going to try clove oil i went to the dentistry school in manhattan and they charge about half i am going to go there after i get my taxes back because they want all the fees up front

  • You can do the clove oil or you can just bite down on a whole clove and hold it on the sore tooth if you can't find the clove oil. Same effect and taste.
