Poems or Scripture for a Stillborn Baby

A good friend of mine just gave birth to a stillborn baby at 34 weeks. They found out she wasn't going to survive just a few days before she was delivered. I am putting together a book for her of quotes and poems and scriptures regarding the loss of a baby. So, I am looking for some other scripture or poems that I can include for her. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • This site has some scriptures and poems.

What a heartbreaking thing to have happen. I'm so sorry for her unfathomable loss.

  • I should add, on this site go to "Loss of loved one poems" and then one that's good is "I couldn't stay long."

  • The world may never notice
    If a Snowdrop doesn't bloom,
    Or even pause to wonder
If the petals fall too soon.
But every life that ever forms,
    Or ever comes to be,
Touches the world in some small way
    For all eternity.

The little one we long for
    Was swiftly here and gone.
But the love that was then planted
Is a light that still shines on.
And though our arms are empty,
Our hearts know what to do.
    Every beating of our hearts
Says that we do love you.

  • An angel wrote in the Book of Life
My (Your) baby's date of birth
Then whispered as she closed the book
    "Too beautiful for Earth"

  • Sometimes, when the sun goes down,
It seems it will never rise again…
    but it will!
    Sometimes, when you feel alone,
It seems your heart will break in two…
    but it won’t.
    And sometimes, it seems
    It’s hardly worthwhile carrying on…
    But it is.
For sometimes, when the sun goes down,
It seems it will never rise again,
    But it does

  • Butterfly

A butterfly came floating by and I thought I knew its face.

It landed on my shoulder and spread its wings of lace.

I looked and saw it smiling and as it winked and flew away, I'm sure I heard it whisper we WILL meet again one day.
