how often do u bathe ur toddler or infant?

some say that you do not have to bathe a small child everyday but others are very strict about bathing their child everyday or look down at other parents who do not bathe their child everyday. What is your take on it?

  • My son is four months old, so he doesn't really get very dirty. I usually bathe him every other day, maybe every day if he has really bad poopy diaper, lol.

  • He usually takes a bath with his daddy in the morning, but if he doesn't it's usually every other day. His skin gets really dry sometimes if he's been getting a bath everyday.

  • I have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. Both get bathed every day. Not because they necessarily need it due to cleanliness but because it's part of their bedtime routines.

  • I have a 2 yr. old and a 5 month old and I have them on alternating schedules of every other day so I do one bath time every night. However, if either one of them needs a bath then I'll do it everyday, like explosive diapers for my baby, and we're in the midst of potty training my toddler so you really never know.

  • when they were infants - once a week. my daughter had really bad eczema and bathing her more often than that just made it worse.

now that they are 2&3, every other day, sometimes an extra day will go by without a bath, but never more than that.

  • my oldest has eczema, she is 5, so too much bathing is not good for her skin. All three get bathed every 2-3 days. About 3 times per week. That is plenty, obviously in the summer it is more frequently, but during the cold months, no more than 3 times per week.

  • My 18 month old gets bathed every night, just before bed. She also has eczema, but she really needs daily cleaning. I don't put too much baby wash in the water, and she doesn't sit in the tub for more than 15 minutes. After patting her dry, I apply Aveeno baby lotion, and voila! She's good to go for the night! Whatever works best for you and your child is best.
