What is a good convertible rear-facing to forward-facing car seat?

My daughter is 9 months old, 22.5 lbs. I'm looking to purchase a car seat that is rear-facing and converts to forward-facing. I purchased a Graco Nautilus but just realized that it is only forward-facing. SO, I'm looking for a good car seat that isn't too expensive and is rated high for weight. Let me know what you think!

  • I used the Saftey 1st convertable seat for my DS. I loved it! Still do :-) It goes from 5 to 100lbs and goes up to a booster so you don't have to buy another one. and it's pretty cheap I think i paid 125 for mine. It's even pretty easy to buckle in if you have to change cars alot. Love it! Good luck.

  • i have the same one as Jjones and love it.. I plan on keeping so when i have another little one i can use it all the way through.

My son is 2 so is forward facing....it works great for all cars and easy to change from car to car. I think my husband found it for 80.00 but it was normally just 125ish at any retail place.

  • If you've got the Nautilus to forward face when the time comes, you can get away with something as simple as a Scenera for RF, and then switch to the Nautilus. Scenera's RF to 35lbs and FF to 40. If you're returning the Nautilus and looking for something comparable, but to use RF and FF, I suggest the True Fit. I have one and love it.
