how can my 11 year old daughter lose weight before her prom so she can find a nice dress

  • Yes she can loose weight but dont use any diet pills. Thats not good for them. But make sure she eats healthy and exercise. It will be more likely that she will exercise if you or a friend does it with her.

  • prom is a long ways off

    get her eating healthy and exercising. Dance class, softball, or any other activity like that that she might like.

  • why would 11 y o go to prom, do you mean a dance? get rid of all the junk food in the house, eliminate salt and sugar and excercise will help. good luck

  • I would imagine that if she is encouraged to eat well and exercise and supported to wear a dress that fits her well- regardless of size- she will look good at prom... hopefully by prom you mean dance, because she is 11 and not 17.

  • turn off the tv. stop buying junk food. make her go outside and play. stop telling her she has to worry about prom which is another 6 years away.

  • She's fine just as she is. She can find a nice dress. Diets are dangerous for girls her age. I've never heard of a prom for someone her age

  • This is a family issue. You all need to live a healty lifestyle. Follow these guidelines, as a family:

    Don’t buy junk food
    Walk, or do other exercise, for at least 20 minutes a day, at least 3 times a week.
    Make sure that you are drinking enough water, at least 8 8oz glasses a day.
    Eat an apple or big pile of veggies before meals.
    Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables a day, in at least 3 different colors.
    Eat 5-6 servings of whole grains a day.
    Eat at least two servings of legumes a day.
    Cut way back on meat and dairy.

    And don't assume that your daughter will want to go to prom, just because you want her to go.

  • I have never heard of an 11 yr old going to prom and she doesn't need to lose weight to fit into a dress. Good way to teach poor body image. NO 11 yr old should be losing weight unless under a doctor's care. Talk to her doctor about her eating habits and see what he or she thinks.

  • I think this is a BS question,the reason being,tweens don't go to prom! There ARE dresses out there for girls of all sizes. I think this is somebody who is very immature's idea of being funny~haha.
