  • YES...
I have been there, and know how things are first hand.
It is easy for the media, to "stir-shit", and make people question things.
It does take permits, and premission to get things done, even in a situation like this, they (media)
want to make it sound like you can just run food and water to everyone...
It takes organation, and alot more.

  • Good idea in theory. TamPogo is actually a multi-level marketing business, sort of like Amway. There are many established organizations you can give to, like the American Red Cross with a guarantee that the money will go to the victims of the earthquake in Haiti. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. mailing your donation with the designation to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37243, Washington, D.C. 20013 or to your local American Red Cross chapter. Donations to the International Response Fund can be made by phone at 1-800-REDCROSS or 1-800-257-7575 (Spanish) or online at www.redcross.org. You can also text "HAITI" to 90999 to donate $10 to American Red Cross relief efforts for Haiti. The amount will be added to your cell phone credit card bill. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/01/13/american-red-cross-haiti_n_421928.html

  • BTW: Interesting tidbit............American Express is the ONLY credit card company that is not skimming 3% off the top of your donation. Something to keep in mind when donating.

  • I already donated. I could easily give up $30 from my grocery budget to help out those who are far less fortunate than myself.
