What would you do with an inheritance?

  • Treat it with the respect the relative would want me to.

    Any money from my folks will have to go to education for my children. My mom hasn't come out and said it, but I know that's what she and my dad would want. I will invest it and use the interest to fund educational things for my children and grand children. Set up an endowment of sorts.

    I know not to sell certain family heirlooms no matter the price.

  • I used the money from my grandfather to buy my first house. I was single and knew I was going to stay in my city for a while. I also bought in a place that would allow me to rent easily. I met my DH about a month after I closed sale and could practically see my grandfather smiling. He always said that he would buy me a house when I got married. The order just got reversed.
