Making healthy cake frosting

Okay, so, I am wanting a healthy alternative to store bought or homemade sugar laden cake frosting for my sons birthday cake. Can I use plain yogurt and mix it with cream cheese to thicken it up? Will that work? Also if I blend in blueberries will that work as an alternative to blue food coloring?

  • Fat free cream cheese, ricotta cheese, yogurt, there are lots of options. Try looking up diabetic friendly recipies for ideas.

  • It all depends if you just want to spread something over a 9x13 or if you want something that'll hole shape to decorate with/pipe on. For piping & good decorating, no, that won't work, but for a quick spread on top of a basic cake, it might - it'll just taste gross IMO.
