What do I add to a 2# bag of "13 Bean soup"? It tells you how to soak/boil beans, and says "add your favorite recipe". What's yours?

It has peas, lentils, pinto beans, white beans, etc. It has NO seasonings at all. Thanks!

  • I vary it. A hamhock or some chopped leftover ham. Chopped tomatos, liquid smoke, perhaps some onions or garlic. I like serving cornbread with it.

  • I usually use chopped onoin, carrots and celery, a can of diced tomatoes (or a bunch of fresh ones when they're in season. Sometimes I use a ham bone, but I don't care much for ham so we don't have it often.
