not a question, but a THANKS to those that said YES to my taking kids out of school for a morning!

We skipped the morning and I just wanted to share how it went!

  • I would have taken my kids out of school to see the flame too. I can still remember when it came through my town in '88, and I took my boys to see it go down the street and then to the cauldron lighting. It really is a once in a lifetime experience.

PS I'm jealous of your mitts, they are impossible to find here!

  • Oooo I would have done that too, they learned and will remember more watching that historic event than they would have at school!

    Cool!

  • it is a really neat experience. i still have the torch and my outfit from when i ran with it in 1996. (my mom was gracious enough to pay the 300 or so it cost to keep my torch for me)

i am glad that your kids enjoyed it!
