whats your stress relieiving technique?

When you are at your wits end what do you do to relax?? I take deep breaths put relaxing music, and light a candle, and sometimes it always effective and works no problems and other days its like nothing will work!!!!!!

  • Fantasize about having a cigarette since I can't have one in real life lol. I quit over a year ago and still get cravings, so now I just imagine the relaxing feeling I would get afterward. Writing down my thoughts helps me to calm down and sometimes even helps put things into perspective. Going for walks is nice too, but I don't have a dog to walk anymore, so I haven't done that in a while.

  • I pray for strength, guidance and direction, or sometimes I go for a drive and visit my Dad's gravesite and talk with him about what's bothering me.

  • Go for a drive with the windows down and the music cranked .... not that soft, easy-listening crap ... hard-slamming tunes. I also like to go to the firing range with my .45 but that doesn't happen as much as I would like.

    Drawing or reading or doing word puzzles also helps.

    Oh and if I can't get out to drive or go to the range, I do the next best thing ... I play video games like GTA: Vice City or Demolition Derby Arenas. =)

  • How about angry music and taking a baseball bat to someting of no purpose. Or use a mashede on stickerbushes, or punch the crap outta pillow. It makes me feel better taking out aggression.
