and chooses to live off of government assistance entitled to a home? free health insurance? a cell phone?

  • good qestion, don't know what to say - possibly with medical problems there's a reason for all that. i know someone who was off of work collecting assistance and got a car loan!!!!

  • People need to earn what they get, imo. Unless they have paid their fair share of taxes and have hit hard times. PA is not to live OFF of, it should only be used for a leg up.

  • dont know where you live but here in California unless you have a medical reason or a disabled child/parent that needs care you have to be activly looking for work, going to school to get a job, in a training program, or county run work programs or they dont help you and you can only do this for 5years max in your whole lifetime the months add up everytime you use it.....
    so your best bet is to use PA as a leg up to a better life and not depend on living that way forever......
    but that here dont know how it works where you live

  • if they choose not to and are able bodied, then no, let them live in the streets and eat from the dumpsters. If there is a physical reason or if they are mentally incapable then it's a different ballgame.
