My 17 mo old is anemic?

What foods should I be cooking to fix this? What else should I do? Thanks.

  • That is basically low iron, correct? Anything that is high in iron is a good for them. Chicken liver is very high in iron, this is what I eat often. I have this myself so I eat the crap out of the liver :)

    Be sure to serve a vitamin C source with the iron source; C increases the absorbtion of iron.


    Dairy can leach iron from the body; avoid it until your child's anemia is under control. Here is some info on calcium: http://www.pcrm.org/health/prevmed/building_bones.html
